And my poor little girl, missed it. She came down with a terrible virus that has been going around and spiked a fever two days ago. She has no energy, a terrible headache, and hasn't eaten anything. Poor baby missed all the fun at school and didn't get to say good-bye.
Hopefully she will recover quickly and get to begin enjoying her summer! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by and she's ready for 1st grade. On her year-end report card, her teacher finally recognized Lily's full reading ability and officially evaluated her reading at a mid-5th grade level! We may need to start applying for colleges sooner than later. That's crazy. I hope she always loves reading and continues to soar!

What bad timing for a sickness to move in! Sorry she missed out on the end of year fun. No surprise on the reading, she's always been an overachiever on that one:-) What a smart little girl you have created!
Thanks Jen, I wish I could take the credit. Once she learned the letter sounds at 18 months, she completely taught herself. It's been amazing to watch and listen to her and a total surprise to us.
That's amazing Khrystin!! (the reading, not the sickness) ...do you ever worry that she may get bored in school? She's such a smartie!
She was very bored a lot this first year and developed a terrible nail biting habit, but fortunately there were many pre-school like activity centers and scheduled playtime to keep her busy. Overall, Kindergarten was just good social development for her. Unfortunately, the state doesn't provide funding for accelerated testing and programs until 2nd or 3rd grade, so we'll do our best to supplement her education at home.
