Wildlights at the Zoo!

3 million lights, 10 billion snowflakes, and a -5 below wind chill = wonderful night at the zoo :)

Ok, I was teasing about that last point, but we came prepared, the kids never once complained, and the frigid temps kept the crowds away for the very last night of the Wildlights at the Zoo. Thanks to a ZOO Membership Christmas gift, from the kids' Grandma and Grandpa, we were able to see the amazing display of lights before the season ended. In our icy sprints to each warm building, we were mapping out our next visit, for when it gets above freezing and the animals dare to brave the winter weather.

So, the kids (not quite yet understanding what New Year's Eve was really all about), decided they wanted to stay up until midnight with us. We agreed, but suggested they get ready for bed first, "just in case" ;)

Well, because Lily had pulled a tooth out earlier in the day, she didn't want to miss a visit from the tooth fairy and went to bed by 9:15. And after seven yawns in a 5-minute period, Brennan resisted, but was in bed by 9:35. Good effort.
